Recently, in a dream, I was discussing with a woman about the threat that Iran posed against Israel. As we were having our conversation, the woman wanted to know what argument I was going to use to defend Israel's right to protect herself. I said that we had to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. She interjected and said that every nation has the right to pursue nuclear weapons for their countries, and Iran was no different. She didn't think that this was a good argument.
We sat staring at each other. In a spirit of gentleness, I decided to change my argument. I started talking about Iran's intent to commit genocide of every Jewish person on the planet, not just in Israel. The woman put her head down in shame because she could not deny the fact that is the intent of the Iranian regime—the end of the dream.
After meditating on the dream, the verse in the Book of Daniel came to mind. In Chapter Nine, Daniel reviewed Jeremiah's prophecies about the end of the 70 years of captivity.
Dan 9:2 In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood the number of the years by books, which had been a Word of Jehovah to Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
Dan 9:3 And I set my face toward the Lord God, to seek by prayer and holy desires, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.
What caught my attention was at the end of Daniel seeking the counsel of the Lord through prayer and fasting. He would receive revelation about a conflict in the Heavenly realms between some high-ranking angels that had responsibility over the nations they were assigned, warring against fallen angels from the kingdom of Darkness.
(Dan 10:1) In the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia, a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar. And the thing was true, and a great conflict. And he understood the thing and had an understanding of the vision.
(Dan 10:2) In those days, I, Daniel, was mourning three weeks of days.
(Dan 10:3) I ate no food for delight, and no flesh or wine came into my mouth. I did not anoint myself at all until three weeks of days were fulfilled.
(Dan 10:4) And on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Tigris,
(Dan 10:5) then I lifted my eyes and looked: And behold! A confident man was clothed in linen, whose loins were wrapped in fine gold from Uphaz.
(Dan 10:6) His body was like the beryl, and his face looked like lightning. And his eyes were like torches of fire; his arms and feet in colour like polished bronze, and the sound of his words was like the noise of a multitude.
(Dan 10:7) And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision. But a great trembling fell on them, so they fled to hide themselves.
(Dan 10:8) Then I was left alone, and I saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me. For my glory was turned within me into corruption, and I kept no strength.
(Dan 10:9) Yet I heard the sound of his words. And when I listened to the sound of his words, then I was on my face, stunned, and my face was toward the ground.
(Dan 10:10) And, behold, a hand touched me and set me shaking on my knees and the palms of my hands.
(Dan 10:11) And he said to me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak to you and stand up, for I am now sent to you. And I stood, trembling when he said this word to me.
(Dan 10:12) And he said to me, Do not fear, Daniel. From the first day you set your heart to understand and humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. And I have come because of your words.
(Dan 10:13) But the king of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days. But, lo, Michael, one of the first rulers, came to help me. And I stayed there with the kings of Persia.
(Dan 10:14) Now I have come to make you understand what shall happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision is yet for many days.
To recap, the dream I had led me to consider the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. In the dream, a discussion unfolded about Israel's right to defend itself. I initially argued that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons was crucial, but the other person disagreed, stating that every nation has the right to pursue nuclear capabilities. As the dream continued, I pivoted my argument to emphasize Iran's alleged intent to commit genocide against Jewish people worldwide, not just in Israel. This led me to a moment of understanding and acceptance, and the dream concluded.
This dream resonated with me, prompting me to reflect on spiritual guidance. It reminded me of a passage from the book of Daniel, where Daniel seeks clarity through prayer and fasting and receives a revelation about a celestial conflict involving mighty angels. This profound insight reminded me of the complex spiritual dynamics underlying human conflicts and encouraged me to seek wisdom and understanding through encounters with the Lord in heavenly places.
