If you were raised with Christ, seek those things above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, you will also appear with Him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4
Let this mind be in you as it is in Christ Jesus. What a remarkable passage of scripture! To me, the scripture speaks of experiencing what Jesus mediates daily. Psalm 139:17 says it states, "How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand."
Hearing God's Voice
Let's go on a little adventure into the thoughts of God. First, how do we receive the His thoughts? Here are four keys that will help in hearing God's voice.
1. We quiet ourselves down. Psalm 46:10. Be still and know that I am God! Coming into a posture of rest. Relax, put your feet up, turn on some soft music and chill out with the Holy Spirit.
2. Close your eyes and ask the Holy Spirit for vision. Hebrews 12:2 states to look at Jesus, the author and protector of your faith. As new creations in Christ, we have spiritual eyes to be able to receive dreams or visions that Jesus wants us to have. Ask papa to open the eyes of your heart so receive vision as you pray. Ephesians 1:17-18
3. Recognise God's voice as spontaneous thoughts that light upon your mind. God's voice (Rhema) is sensed as a spontaneous thought, idea, word, feeling or vision. As with the first two keys, we must learn to communion with Papa, Jesus, and Holy Spirit to sense the ways of the Godhead. 2 Corinthians 13:14, Zechariah 3:7.
4. Journal (Write) down what you are receiving from the Lord by faith! God will cause your journal to naturally focus on faith, hope and love (1 Corinthians 13:13).
The information above about hearing God's voice is just a small summary of the key points of hearing God's voice every day in your life! If you want to dive deeper into the four keys, visit our website at www.hearinggodsvoiceuk.net.
